Privacy Policy

Bet On Her — Last Updated: July 1, 2026

Introduction

Bet On Her ("we," "our," or "the App") is a free mobile application for iOS and Android dedicated to women's sports coverage — scores, schedules, news, podcasts, videos, statistics, community discussion, and research tools. We are committed to protecting your privacy and to being straightforward about what we collect. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.

The short version: the core of the App works without an account and without giving us any personal information. If you choose to sign in for community features, we collect the minimum needed to run them. We use anonymous analytics to improve the App. We never sell your data and we show no ads.

Information We Collect

Using the App Without an Account

You can browse scores, schedules, news, podcasts, videos, and stats without creating an account or providing any personal information. In this mode we do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifiable information.

Optional Account (Community Features)

Some features — chat rooms, commenting on posts and articles, replying, reactions, and game predictions — require signing in so your contributions can be attributed and moderated. Sign-in uses:

  • Sign in with Apple (iOS)

  • Sign in with Google (Android)

When you sign in, we receive and store:

  • A display name (from your Apple or Google profile, or one you set yourself; you can change it in the App)

  • An account identifier issued by Apple or Google that lets us recognize your account (we do not receive your password)

  • An optional avatar image if you choose to set one

We do not require or store your phone number or physical address. Apple's "Hide My Email" is fully supported.

Content You Create

If you sign in and participate, we store the content you create so the features work: chat messages, comments, replies, reactions, game predictions, and reports you submit about other users' content. This content is stored on our servers and associated with your account. You can delete your own comments and messages in the App, and deleting your account removes your content as described under Data Deletion below.

Push Notifications and Device Registration

If you enable push notifications (for example, breaking news or alerts from a collection you subscribe to with the bell icon), we store:

  • A randomly generated device identifier created by the App (not your phone's hardware identifier)

  • Your device's push token issued by Apple (APNs) or Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging)

  • Your notification subscriptions (which collections or topics you subscribed to)

This is used solely to deliver the notifications you asked for. Notifications can be turned off at any time in system settings, and collection subscriptions can be toggled with the bell icon in the App.

Local Preferences

The App stores your preferences locally on your device (standard iOS UserDefaults / Android DataStore). This includes onboarding status; favorite sports, leagues, and teams; enabled news feeds, podcasts, and social accounts; custom sources and collections you create; and feature disclaimer acceptances. These preferences stay on your device, are not backed up to our servers, and are deleted when you uninstall the App.

Cached Data

The App temporarily caches images (team logos, article and product images) and sports data on your device to improve performance. Image caches are automatically purged (typically within 7 days) and size-limited; sports data caches expire within minutes to hours depending on the data type. The operating system may clear caches at any time.

Device Permissions

All device permissions are optional:

  • Calendar — only if you choose to add a sports event to your calendar; used solely to create that event. We do not read, store, or transmit existing calendar data.

  • Notifications — only if you enable push notifications.

  • Background audio — lets podcast playback continue when the App is minimized. No microphone access is requested or used.

Analytics and Tracking

We use Amplitude, a third-party analytics service, to understand how the App is used in aggregate so we can improve it. This tracking is anonymous — it is not linked to your name, email address, or account identity.

What is collected: app usage events such as sessions, screens viewed, taps on app features, and content interactions (for example, opening an article, playing a podcast, viewing a collection, tapping a merch item, or making a game prediction), plus basic device context (device model, operating system version, app version, language, and coarse region derived from IP address — precise location is never collected).

How you are identified: events are associated with a randomly generated identifier created by the Amplitude SDK on your device. It is not your name, email, phone number, or advertising ID. We do not use Apple's IDFA or Google's Advertising ID, we do not request App Tracking Transparency permission, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

What is never collected: the content of your messages and comments, your contacts, your precise location, your calendar contents, or any personally identifiable information.

Analytics data is processed by Amplitude, Inc. on our behalf under the Amplitude Privacy Policy. We use it solely to improve the App — never for advertising — and it is never sold.

We do not use any other analytics or advertising SDKs.

Advertising

The App contains no advertisements. We do not integrate ad networks or advertising SDKs, and we do not share any data with advertisers.

Third-Party Services and Data Sources

The App communicates with our own Bet On Her servers and retrieves publicly available sports content from third-party services:

  • Bet On Her API (our servers) — Schedules, news, collections, community features, and push delivery. User data sent: account data and content described above, only if you sign in or enable notifications.

  • Amplitude — Anonymous usage analytics. User data sent: anonymous events (see Analytics and Tracking).

  • Apple / Google sign-in — Optional account sign-in. User data sent: handled by Apple/Google; we receive an identity token and display name.

  • TheSportsDB — League standings fallback. User data sent: none.

  • The Odds API — Sports betting odds from licensed sportsbooks. User data sent: none.

  • Bluesky public API — Public posts from women's sports accounts. User data sent: none.

  • RSS / podcast feeds — News articles and podcast episodes. User data sent: none.

  • YouTube — Video content from women's sports channels. User data sent: standard video-playback requests.

  • GIPHY — Optional GIF picker in chat and comments. User data sent: your GIF search terms (sent to GIPHY to return results).

All network communication uses HTTPS (encrypted connections). Third-party services have their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review: Apple, Google, Amplitude, The Odds API, Bluesky, YouTube, GIPHY.

AI Features

The App includes an optional AI companion feature that uses Apple's on-device language model (on supported devices). All AI processing occurs entirely on your device. No prompts, queries, or AI-generated responses are sent to external servers.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade user data. We share data only with service providers acting on our behalf (Amplitude for anonymous analytics; Apple and Google for push notification delivery and sign-in), and only what is necessary for those services. We do not share data with advertisers or data brokers. We may disclose information if required by law.

Data Retention

  • Account data and content (display name, comments, chat messages, predictions): retained while your account is active; deleted when you delete your account.

  • Device registrations and notification subscriptions: retained while the device remains registered; removable by disabling notifications or deleting the App.

  • Anonymous analytics: retained by Amplitude per our configuration and their policy; never linked back to your identity.

  • Local preferences: on your device until you uninstall the App or reset them.

  • Cached data: purged automatically (images within ~7 days; sports data within minutes to hours).

Data Deletion

You can delete your account at any time in the App (Settings → Account → Delete Account). This removes your account and disassociates or removes your content from our servers. You can also request deletion by emailing support@bet-on-her.com. Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored preferences and caches; if you had an account, deleting the App alone does not delete the account — use the in-app deletion or email us.

Data Security

All network communications use HTTPS encryption. Server-side data is access-controlled and limited to what the features require. Local data is protected by standard iOS/Android sandboxing and your device's security (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID, or biometric unlock).

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your Rights and Choices

  • Preferences: modify at any time in the App's settings.

  • Account: edit your display name and avatar, or delete your account, in the App.

  • Notifications: disable in system settings; unsubscribe from collections with the bell icon.

  • Calendar: revoke access in system privacy settings.

  • Cache: clear by uninstalling/reinstalling or via system storage settings.

Depending on where you live (for example, the EU/EEA, UK, or California), you may have additional rights such as access, correction, deletion, and portability of your personal data. Contact us at the address below to exercise them.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. Material changes will be highlighted in the App or on our website. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
